Brazilian Food

Hey people!

So, I decided tell about my country in English; so more people can know abou the problems and the good things. The first thing I will telll is the food.

One thing about Brazil: he is very BIG.
There are five regions: North, Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and South. And each one of then have a traditional culinary of many peoples. So, it is hard when you look to all, because they are so diferent and similar at same time.
I live in São Paulo, in the Southeast. More specifically in Santos, so I will tell just what I think is the face of Brazil.

One thing about the food now: it is expansive.
Because the beginning of a recession, the drought in the northeast and (this is new) southeast, the increase of inflation the price rise very much. But this is other story, for other day.

Well, the main dish of Brazil is rice and bean and something (normally this 'something' is meat). Everybody in Brazil eat this, no matter the region; sometimes change the 'something'. For example, in the North, the eat this with mandioca. Mandioca is a traditional dish of indigenous culinary.

This is Mandioca

We have problems with vegetables too, but is very ordinary find salads in our dishes.
We love meat and churrasco (or barbecue for you) is very good. It is the meat in the spit, with a seasoning different for each family.

In the sweets, brigadeiro and beijinho.

Brigadeiro is nothing more than chocalete, condensed milk and butter, can have granuleted or not. It is delicious and I love. Can eat in the pan and in this way is even better.  Your 'brother' and 'best-friend' is the beijinho. It is, basically, the same ingredients, but we used zest coconut in the place of chocolate powder.
There is many styles of brigadeiro and beijjinho, and we discovery a new everytime.

Well, this is just a little of Brazilian Food and certainly I will come back with more.
See U,
